📝 SIGNING NEWS 📝Following on from the return of Paul Edmunds yesterday, another two familiar faces have followed him back to Tyddyn Paun.First of all we have Josh Royds who returns to the club after spells away with the likes of Arriva Bangor and Llandegfan. Secondly, we have Jamie Roberts who moves back to Llangoed from Pentraeth – who we’d like to thank for a smooth transfer. Both are vastly experienced players who can play in a number of positions and previously enjoyed great success with our club.Great additions who will help our younger lads out to no end out on the pitch. Welcome back both! 🐦 See MoreSee Less

⚽️ FRIENDLY RESULT ⚽️Llangoed Reserves 1-4 Amlwch Town FCA good test for and a battling performance from the Reserves against a side who play one league above the one our first team is in.We started off brightly and created some good chances early on with Rob Boyes going closest with a chipped effort when one-on-one with Amlwch keeper Luke Bansal, but his effort trickled just wide.Amlwch began to grow into the game though and went ahead around 20mins in when Liam Thomas scrambled the ball home from a corner which was not dealt with by the Reserves. It was 2-0 soon after when their young winger as put through on goal and smashed in a great finish giving our keeper Duane Hunt no chance.HT: 0-2 The second half proved to be a more closely-fought affair – despite Amlwch bringing some more experienced players onto the field.Chances fell for both sides before Town’s player-manager Chris Byast put them 3-0 up with a very well struck low and hard shot from 25 yards out on 65mins.Soon after, the Reserves had a glimmer of hope when a penalty was awarded and Josh Royds stepped up to smash the ball home.Left back Matty Owen then had a good chance to make it 3-2 but his effort went just wide of the target.Duane Hunt made a couple of brilliant saves in the Llangoed goal after that before the game was done and dusted on 75mins when Amlwch made it 4-1 through a close range header.A good run out for the Reserves who hadn’t played a match in nearly 3 weeks before this one and they more than held their own for the majority of the match with some new faces playing too (and even a rare but short cameo from manager Arron Evans! 😂)We now turn our attentions to the friendly v Four Mile Bridge next Sunday before we return to league action v Kinmel Bay on the 25th in what will be a huge match for us.MATCHDAY SQUAD 🐦 Duane Hunt (Sponsored by Anglesey Boat Trips/RIB Rides with Seawake) Daniel Owen (Sponsored by Shaun O’Neill)Seun Oki (Sponsored by Lockheed Martin)Dion Taylor Connor O’Neill (Sponsored by Dawn Hughes) Joe Doohan (Sponsored by Doohan’s Civil Engineering)Kieron DaviesMatty Owen (Sponsored by Oleco)Tom Hughes (Sponsored by Henllys) Robert Boyes Liam Roberts (Sponsored by Colin’s Barbers)SubsJosh Royds Alex Clarke Steve ‘Tommy’ Mynes Arron Evans Reserves Man of the Match: Connor O’Neill – absolutely fearless as always 💪🏻 See MoreSee Less

Llangoed Players of the Month for August. It has been a very close run thing this month. The team is improving week by week and individual performances with it. We have seen some stunning goals from Anthony, Llion, Seun, Connor, Wayne and Twm. Also some excellent saves from Rhys and Duane (the goalkeeper formally known as Dwayne). Some top flight defending and we have given a scare twice to a top four team. Well done everyone and keep working hard and the results will come. This month, the players of the month go to Ieuan Grenier for the first team and Joseph Doohan for the reserves.k See MoreSee Less

⚽️ RESULT ⚽️Llangoed Reserves 3Llanberis Reserves 4The Reserves’ first home match was so near yet so far away from producing a first three points for Arron Evans’ side in the North Wales Coast Reserves League. It started off in bad fashion for Llangoed as the visitors took the lead early on through Connor Roberts’ well-struck goal from outside the box after just six minutes. However, Llangoed found an equaliser before half time as Llion Roberts found space in behind and bagged his first goal for the Reserves, taking his chance very well. In the second half, Roberts hit the bar for Llangoed after a fantastic ball over the top from captain Connor Lewis.Llanberis then went back in front early on when MOTM Aaron Jones-Evans hit his first of three goals on the night. But again Llangoed found a way back into the tie – Kieran Fritter scoring his second free kick in as many matches to make it 2-2 on the hour mark.In what was an end-to-end match for the neutral to enjoy, Llanberis then found a third goal, with Jones-Evans the scorer once more – and despite calls for offside the goal was given. But again, the Puffins refused to lie down and found an equaliser. Substitute Joe Doohan got on the end of a Llion Roberts cross to fire in a great volley on his left foot just moments after coming on.3-3 with ten minutes to go and it was all to play for.Unfortunately for us though it was Llanberis who found that decisive fourth goal – a great ball floated in found it’s way in to the back of the net, over keeper Duane Hunt in goal. There was still time for even more drama though as with five minutes to go, Llion Roberts thought he’d squeezed in yet another equaliser for Llangoed but the goal was not given despite claims of the ball going over the line.Despite the defeat, it was another game which showed the fighting spirit of this side who are just starting to show signs of clicking as a team and are creating plenty of chances too and beginning to take those. The long trip down to Pwllheli away awaits the reserves next on Sunday afternoon.MATCHDAY SQUADDuane Hunt (Anglesey Boat trips – RIB RIDES with Seawake)Kieran Murphy – (Y Glan-Neigr)Dion Taylor (sponsor needed)Connor Lewis (Betty Kotkowicz)Ben Williams (sponsor needed)Kieron Davies (sponsor needed)Liam Roberts (Colin’s Barbers)Kieran Fritter (Mike’s Garage Llandegai) ⚽️ Liam Jones (sponsor needed)Seun Oki (Lockheed Martin)Llion Roberts (Dion Lewis Painting) ⚽️ SUBS:Joe Doohan (Doohan Civil Engineering) ⚽️ George Lewis (sponsor needed)Jacob Evans (sponsor needed)Jack Williams (sponsor needed)Tom Hughes (Henllys)MOTM for Llangoed: Llion Roberts (1 goal, 1 assist) chosen by LlangoedDuane Hunt was chosen as MOTM by Llanberis See MoreSee Less

⚽️ RESERVES MATCH REPORT ⚽️Clwb Pel-Droed Bontnewydd Reserves 4Llangoed Reserves 2A decent performance from the reserves in the first game of the season and their first official match together – but it ultimately ended in defeat at Cae Stanley.Kieran Fritter put Llangoed ahead through a very well-struck free kick just eight minutes into the match. But Bont began to grow in confidence and found an equaliser 10minutes later – defender Matthew Jones firing home from a corner swung into the box. Llangoed were ahead again soon after however through another brilliant finish. Midfielder Kieron Davies, making his debut for the club, curling in a great shot into the bottom corner on 27mins.But Bont would fight back again before half time – Osian McGuinness scoring a header from close range after some great play down the right. In the second half, Llangoed switched to a 4-3-3 formation and the gaps which had appeared in the middle in the first half were tightened up. Chances fell out way but we just couldn’t take them, Dylan and Llion Roberts both going close to putting us ahead.Bont eventually found a breakthrough of their own on 71mins when Cameron Owen found his way in behind the defence and put the ball under keeper Duane Hunt. The game was done and dusted 3 minutes from time when Owen Chorley produced a stunning long range goal for the home aide which gave Hunt no chance. On another day we could have so easily won that match, but such is the way with football that you have to take your chances. Still – a lot of positives to take from that match and a performance to build on. Thanks to Bontnewydd for their hospitality on matchday and we wish them all the best for the rest of the season. On to Llanberis Reserves at home a week today for us now. Congratulations to Anthony Williams who picks up the Player of the Month Award for July. Having joined us at the start of the season, he quickly cemented his place in the first team. Anthony is fourth on the Bob Brodie trophy list with 6 league and cup goals. He scored a hat trick in our league opener against Cefni and turned provider for Seun’s two goals in last weekend’s win against Holyhead Town. Well deserved Anthony. See MoreSee Less

Holyhead Town 1 – 3 Llangoed FC.Scorers for Llangoed were;Oluwaseun Oki (2)Connor O NeillScorer for Holyhead Town was;Kaine BentleyWe arrived at Holyhead having picked up only 1 point from our last 3 matches and having just lost Nathaniel Evans from central defence to Llanfair PG. We had 4 other players missing and had not been gelling as a team. From the pre-match warm up, the team was on fire with every player determined to play their part. Sustained early pressure was rewarded with Anthony Williams setting up both of Seun Oki’s first half goals and Llangoed in control of the tie. Holyhead are an experienced, well organized team and had several chances which were dealt with by a back line of our returning captain Matty Owen, Connor O Neill, Dan Owen and Stephen Edwards, who was once again providing an experienced head in the centre of defence. The second half kicked off with sustained pressure from Holyhead which eventually led to a Kaine Bentley goal from a corner. The match was end to end stuff until Connor O Neill powered a header into the right hand corner of the Holyhead goal to make it 3-1. This was easily the best team performance I have seen since pre-season. Every single one of you played out of your skins today. Some notable mentions were Rhys Owen who controlled the Llangoed goal for 90 minutes, Anthony Williams and Seun Oki who were a potent attacking partnership all afternoon. Dan Jones, Ieuan Grenier and Matty Roberts who were unbelievably active all afternoon in midfield and Connor O Neill who topped off a man of the match performance in defence with a stunning headed goal. Huge, huge improvement over last week, lets carry it over to Mountain Rangers next weekend. Well done to all of you and big thanks to Holyhead Town for hosting us this afternoon. See MoreSee Less
